Common Questions

Very! The aluminium we use is all structural grade, and optimised for both strength and ease of use (and posts can be powder-coated to suit your requirements.

Plus, no hammer is used, and the post part you see does not even go into the ground!

One post can be installed in less than a minute, using just three things:

  1. Heavy duty hammer drill
  2. Sign60 SDS Max driver
  3. Allen key set

If required you can use a post levelĀ  – available at most hard wear stores for about $6

Yes you need to turn off the rotation and just use the drill on ‘hammer’.

The hammer drill needs to be an SDS Max tool, available widely.

As a guide we recommend you get a tool which has at least 10 Joules of impact energy and both Makita and DeWalt make theses up to 20 J and these will work even better.

Of course you can also choose to use an electric demolition hammer which can exceed 80 J, but the battery alternative is far more convenient.

Yes! For concrete and asphalt we recommend first drilling through with a masonry drill bit. For compacted gravel we recommend first drilling a pilot hole with a 10mm masonry drill.

You will need

– Hammer Drill – size required will depend on the ground you are putting the post into, but we recommend a 10J +

– Allen key set

-Post level (optional)

Absolutely! The aluminium we use is 100% recycled, (and able to be recycled later on). There are no toxic chemicals you find in treated wood.

The product is designed to last decades and even be be reused 100s of times if needed.

No concrete is used to install Sign60 posts’.

The post extrusion is made in New Zealand using recycled aluminium, and the fibreglass poles come from our Chinese manufacturing partner.
